Title: Investigation into the effect of email spam on the workplace
ABSTRACT

Spam!

What a word for the menace it has now been coined into. Spam, to the run of the mill gourmet used to mean some kind of canned meat made largely from pork .This was in an era when messages sent by any form of electronic transmission dwelt largely on Morse code, Telephones ,Telegraphs and the ubiquitous Fax machine of the 80s and 90s .
Today it is a completely different matter .Not only has email spam become the scourge of the Information Superhighway, it has also contributed in no small measure to the Economics of Scale within the vast trundling marketplace the Internet has now become.
The grand manner that email has been turned into the basic communication tool has also largely replaced various means of products and service advertisement by virtually anyone who can gain access to email software which by and large is itself no great feat these days even in the so called developing or Third World Nations.

Preface
Imagine an alien observer taking a mid day scan into the daily activities of human beings on the planet called Earth.
Imposingly catching his eyes will be the oceans and seas, the deep blue covering the Earth would be quite unmistakable but something else might just interest our extra terrestrial.
If it had a sort of electronic signal detection device which I daresay most aliens would posses, it would be able to show clearly the myriad of electronic signals that traverse the earths atmosphere, stratosphere and even beneath the sea via wires, cables, radio waves that get assembled and disassembled in the form of email and other Electronic messaging systems
Today, various studies by major Internet Survey Agencies estimate that a bulk portion of these electronic signals would be classified as SPAM email.
